Embrace Failure

Embrace Failure

Maya Angelou once said, "It may be necessary to encounter defeats, so you can know who you are, and what you can rise from." We all have dreams, visions, goals we want to achieve, but with the chaos of life, we sometimes don't follow through. We look for excuses, like "I'm not good enough" and "I'm not smart enough". Or the main reason we give up on our dreams is the fear of failing. No one likes to fail, and we allow this fear to keep us in bondage. I am here to share that failing is a part of succeeding and you should embrace it. We have all failed at something at some point in our lives. If you haven't failed, you haven't lived.

When I am feeling overwhelmed by fear of failure, I ask myself the following questions:

Embracing failure
  • What if I succeed? Think of how your life would improve if you followed through. Remember your WHY!

  • What am I really afraid of? Writing down your fears can make them feel less overwhelming.

  • What’s the worst that could happen?

  • In many cases, failure doesn’t change much about your current situation, so what do you have to lose?

Our journey in life can seem complicated and messy at times, but if God has placed a dream in your heart, my advice is to pursue it! God did not give us the spirit of fear. He obligates Himself to help you fulfill your assigned task. So be encouraged today to go after that dream that God has put in your heart.
